I led the team from its early days at Open Knowledge, and oversaw the creation of the logic layer, harvesting system, JSON API, full text search functionality and Debian packaging. I was particularly proud of the 1.5 and 1.6 releases.
The CKAN project is still going strong 4 years later, and is a great choice as an open data portal.
CKAN is the world's leading open source open data portal. It started out at data.gov.uk and datahub.io and now powers most of the world's major open data portals.
