Tried the 2.5 release on MacOS X 10.10. This has a "This needs to be moved to trash" error when you try to install it. Also tried the 2.6 beta-1. This didn't work either, it installed and ran but the interface never showed.
Finally, 2.6-rc1 worked! Get it from here: https://github.com/OpenRefine/OpenRefine/releases
